The voice actor that read the book is SO talented , and the story - SO real. It could have happened. I am really good and figuring out mysteries, but this one really had me baffled. The characters were believable and interesting. The plot was complex but fun to follow. It was a page-turner. Since I’m from MN, it was fun to read a novel about northern MN. - 3.0 out of 5 stars from W. S. Walcott -- Thriller “Lite” : It’s not that this is a bad novel, but it’s not as good as the rave reviews would lead one to believe. The best way to describe the novel is to call it thriller “lite.” Like “Lite” beer which has fewer calories and, let’s be honest, less taste than regular beer, this novel is less complex and less realistic than your run-of-the-mill thriller. I don’t like giving a synopsis of a novel is a review, but I will give one small example. At one point, the FBI is brought in. When the AIC is giving his briefing, he is explaining things to the cops that all cops would know. Another time, the AIC uses an owner’s manual from a car to convince a kid he has a warrant to search the kid’s room. That was laughable and wouldn’t happen in most thriller novels because most thriller writers are more beholden to reality. In the end, this is a breezy novel that could have been much better with a hundred pages or so of well-researched detail. As it is, I’d recommend it for teens who are looking to break into reading thrillers. ( Reviewed in the United States on March 29, 2020 )

- 4.0 out of 5 stars from Kerensa -- really enjoyed this book : Haven't read this author before and though it starts a little clumsily with too much telling rather than showing, I soon got sucked in by the plot development and characters. Good characterisation, touching on human frailty and the poignancy of Alzheimer's amidst the search for a missing child.
