:- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Irwin M. McHugh -- Great : This book is just another in the line of writing by Edgar Rice Borroughs that is literally out of this world. I have read most of his books about John Carter and enjoyed every one. The suspense, descriptions, flow and imagination are so great that it is hard to put it down. Highly recommend this book for all ages and genders. ( Reviewed in the United States on June 16, 2020 )

- 4.0 out of 5 stars from EMAN_NEP -- BEAUTY AND THE BEAST . . . AND SOME FRANKENSTEIN : Just a quick look at Michael Whelan's great cover art drives home the "Beauty and the Beast" theme. The Beast as depicted is Tor-dur-bar, who is actually just a shell for the mind of Vor Daj, who is the main character. Actually, I guess you could say that the BRAIN of Vor Daj is the main character. - 2.0 out of 5 stars from Kindle Customer -- One story written by son and second story unfinished. : Have read all of the Mars and Venus sagas numerous times but not this one. First story is written by Edgar Rice Burroughs 's son and is not as good as his father's detailed writing, the second book was good up to the point where the reader is left in limbo, the story finished with more to come, they should have got somebody to finish writing the book so that data could come to a conclusion.
